All conventional treatment approaches can be enhanced by the addition of relaxation, imagery, and hypnotherapy. Guided relaxation and healing meditations both help people relax and feel better and people who are relaxed can experience less discomfort and can heal faster.

How we think about cancer and our treatments is so important because we can easily think about it in ways that will worsen the situation. There is a marked difference in one's physiology when they start a treatment in fear and dread versus starting the treatment feeling very optimistic and using healthy thinking such as seeing your treatment as being a powerful ally. An example would be imagining chemotherapy as a river of healing light going through the body eliminating cancer cells thus ensuring the experience goes well. Perhaps you wouldn't even say you are going for a chemotherapy treatment and instead you would be going for your "healing treatment". The result can only be about betterment and empowerment of the situation.

Clients learn techniques for enriching their lives and dealing with cancer in order to promote their health. These include experiencing the benefits of consciously using the breath and doing exercises around stress reduction. The goal is to change unhealthy thoughts and reframe them into beneficial thoughts and thus creating a healthy state of calmness and optimism, thereby restoring hope and control.

During the session a client will experience a progressive relaxation followed by a guided visualizatoin tailored to the current treatment taking place. The session is recorded so that the client is able to strengthen the healing suggesitons by listening to the CD at home.
